Barca's season a success - Enrique

Barcelona's double-winning season has been "fantastic" despite their Champions League failure, according to the club's manager Luis Enrique.

The La Liga champions beat Sevilla 2-0 in Sunday's Copa del Rey final, having played for more than 50 minutes with 10 men after Javier Mascherano's red card.

Barca lost in the Champions League quarter-finals to Atletico Madrid.

"Our season can only be considered positive. We have won four of six titles," said Enrique.

Barca also won the Uefa Super Cup - against Sevilla - and the Fifa Club World Cup, but lost in the Spanish Super Cup.

In Sunday's Copa del Rey final win, Jordi Alba and Neymar both scored in extra time from Lionel Messi assists, as Barca successfully defended the cup, with Sevilla ending up with nine men.

"It was a spectacular end to the season," said Enrique. "Not only for the last few must-win league games but because of how the cup final unfolded. We played perfectly, much improved on the defensive end.

"Sevilla created a lot of pressure. We defended very well and the team knew how to compete despite the difficulties.

"This team cannot possibly show any more character and personality than they already have. When we went down to 10 men it was a completely different game.

"The team did not have to prove anything. They keep winning with different coaches. They know how to overcome adversity."
