Barcelona boss Luis Enrique did not confirm whether Lionel Messi will start their penultimate Champions League group game with Roma at the Nou Camp.

The forward returned from two months out with a knee injury as a substitute in Saturday's 4-0 win over Real Madrid.

"He seemed in very good shape to me," Enrique said. "All that is needed now is to charge his batteries."

Barcelona, five points clear at the top of the group, will qualify for the last 16 with a draw.

Second-placed Roma will go through with a win - if Bayer Leverkusen fail to beat BATE.

Barcelona are expected to be without defender Javier Mascherano, who hurt a thigh in the first half of El Clasico in La Liga.

"He was not able to train today and the logical thing is that he won't feature tomorrow because he is a key player for us and we don't want to take any risks," said Enrique, who managed Roma in 2011-12.
