Former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu has called his Jiangsu Sainty players "fools" for failing to celebrate winning the Chinese Cup.
Far from being doused in champagne, the Romanian manager had to tell his dressing room how to toast their success following a 1-0 aggregate win over Shanghai Shenhua last month.
"After the game my players were silent," Petrescu told local media. "They didn't know how to celebrate.
"I had to tell them, 'Come on, fools, you won, you have to be happy'. We, the Romanians, are drinking and having fun."
Petrescu, 47, took over at the Chinese Super League side in July after winning the Romanian Super Cup with former club Targu Mures in his only competitive game in charge.
Ominously for the celebration-shy Jiangsu players, Petrescu, who played for his country 95 times, has asked the club's board to bolster the squad with new signings ahead of their Asian Champions League campaign.
"I want to bring in good players," he added.
