Diego Costa: Chelsea striker in hospital for scan on shin injury

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has gone to hospital for a scan on the shin injury he sustained during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Everton.

The 27-year-old Spain international scored one goal and made another, but limped off in the 80th minute after receiving lengthy treatment.

Costa has scored five goals in five games since Guus Hiddink became Blues interim boss in December.

"We don't know the result yet and I hope it's not bad," said Hiddink.

"He was in a lot of pain."

Costa was Chelsea's top scorer last season with 20 goals as Chelsea completed a Premier League and League Cup double.
