Derby County have numerous options to replace midfielder George Thorne, who suffered a double leg break in last week's defeat against Ipswich Town and has been ruled out for three months.

Craig Bryson and Will Hughes are set to play, joined by Bradley Johnson, Jeff Hendrick or Jacob Butterfield.

Hull City have no new injury concerns for the trip to the iPro.

Tigers boss Steve Bruce could name the same side that recorded a 5-1 win over Rotherham last week.

This will be Derby's sixth venture into the play-offs, with the Rams only winning promotion once, from the Championship in 2006-07.

The Rams reached the play-off final in 2014, but lost 1-0 to QPR.

Hull have taken part in two previous play-off campaigns, securing promotion to the Premier League in their last appearance in 2007-08.

Only once in the last 17 seasons has the team that finished fourth won the second tier play-offs (QPR in 2014).

Derby County head coach Darren Wassall told BSports Radio Derby:

"Against QPR a couple of years ago there was massive disappointment, particularly when QPR went down to 10 men.

"I think everybody in the ground thought it was just a matter of time before we unlocked the door and scored. It just shows why all these games are so unpredictable.

"They are the favourites; they have just come down from the Premier League and they finished above us in the league and have some very good players.

"But we have beaten them twice and it shows we are capable of giving them a game if we are at our best."

Hull City manager Steve Bruce told BSports Radio Humberside:

"I think Harry Redknapp has helped Darren out because he's got so much experience.

"Darren will be fancying his chances because they've beaten us twice and that is the type of guy he is.

"I think I know his team and he'll think he knows my team but I don't know if it's that much of an advantage.

"It is a mouth watering tie with two very good teams and it will be all about who performs on the day."
