Chelsea striker Diego Costa says his relationship with Jose Mourinho is "amazing" and admitted he was wrong to throw a training bib towards him.
Costa, 27, was left on the bench for the goalless draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane last month after a poor run of form.
He was dropped after scoring just three league goals and threw his bib in Mourinho's direction.
"The bib [incident] is in the past. I made a mistake," said Costa.
The Spanish international was restored to the starting line-up for the 2-0 win over Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.
He had a hand in both goals as Chelsea finished top of their group.
Costa had scored the winner against Norwich in the Premier League on 21 November but was left out of the starting line-up for the Spurs games and Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
He has struggled to replicate last season's form, when he scored 20 goals as Chelsea won the title.
Speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Costa added: "My relationship with Mourinho is amazing, we get on really well,"
"There are things you need to control but the bib thing was an impulse."
Mourinho played down the bib incident and said he has "no issue" with the player.
