Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said his side's 4-1 defeat at home to Liverpool had made him "more than angry".
Eliaquim Mangala's own goal after seven minutes set the pattern for a poor defensive display by Pellegrini's side.
They were 0-3 down after 32 minutes, and Sergio Aguero's goal just before half-time did not spark a revival for the hosts.
"It was a complete disaster, the whole team," said the Blues' boss.
"I am more than angry, it is unbelievable the performance we had," the Chilean added.
"I have never seen this team play in the way they did tonight. It is difficult to understand why we should play so badly - not just one name but a complete team in defending or attacking possession."
City's defeat - their second at home in the Premier League this season - saw them replaced by Leicester at the top of the table.
Liverpool's win moved them up into ninth with a return to winning ways in their first outing since their first loss under the management of Jurgen Klopp.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach said, "Two weeks ago we lost the game against Palace, now we have taken those points back."
