TEAM NEWS

Liverpool's defensive options have been bolstered by the return to fitness of Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure, and the loan signing of Steven Caulker.

Jordan Henderson, Jordon Ibe and James Milner could also all be back.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to recall Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker after resting them against Sunderland.

Alexis Sanchez is not yet fit enough to return, while Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere remain out.

MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES

Guy Mowbray: " Jurgen likes Arsene ("one of the best in the world")  and Arsene likes Jurgen ("a great manager").

"They're from cities just 66 miles apart across the French-German border, and have formed a mutual admiration over six Champions League games between Arsenal and Dortmund.

"For now though, the niceties end - with Liverpool v Arsenal games always having an edge.

Klopp's Reds are battling gamely with brutal January fixture and injury lists, and much of their hopes here rest on what central defensive pairing he can field.

The Gunners meanwhile have coped with their own injury worries superbly, winning seven of their last eight games in all competitions.

No Francis Coquelin, no Santi Cazorla, no Alexis Sanchez - no problem... a trip to Southampton aside.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "Arsenal and Arsene have their own style; it's possession football, so it's clear that if we want to play the same way we will be without a chance because they've been doing it for longer.

"Arsenal are not only a good possession team, that's the problem, they have good counter-attacks too and that's what you have to be aware of.

"It's a job - but it's a really nice job - to think about solutions and how to stop them coming through with their plan. I like things like this."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "Every time we go to Anfield, we face a team who is up for it. It's always a ferocious battle, no matter who the manager is.

"They had a very strong manager before (Brendan Rodgers), they have a very strong one now and Klopp has the personality to do well there."

LAWRO'S PREDICTION

I think Liverpool are better against teams who let them play a little bit, which is what Arsenal will do on Wednesday.

I am going for another draw here, which will suit Arsenal. They just keep on rolling along, picking up points and that is all they need to do.
