Queens Park Rangers are set to appoint Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as their new boss.
BSports Radio Derby reports the former Chelsea striker is taking training at the west London club on Friday.
The 43-year-old led Burton to the League Two title last season and the club are currently top of League One.
Neil Warnock has been in interim charge at Loftus Road since Chris Ramsey was sacked on 4 November, and led the R's to a 1-0 win at Reading on Thursday.
Speaking after the victory at the Madejski Stadium, Warnock told BSports Radio London: "I was told he'd be in training tomorrow [Thursday] and I was leaving after tonight."
Hasselbaink's assistant at the Pirelli Stadium, David Oldfield, is expected to join the Dutchman in moving to west London.
Rangers are 11th in Championship table, two points outside the play-off places, and Warnock described the QPR job as "a fantastic opportunity" for Hasselbaink.
"It's a massive step up, but I was fantastic with Scarborough and then went to Notts County and ended up in the top flight," the 67-year-old added.
"Nothing is impossible. Not many managers get jobs like this with players like we've got. He must think he's won the pools."
The Brewers published a statement on their website on Friday morning confirming Hasselbaink's move, but then retracted it.
"It has been an amazing 12 months but we always knew that Jimmy was ambitious and that this was a stepping stone," Burton chairman Ben Robinson said.
