TEAM NEWS

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez could make changes after his side's relegation was confirmed on Wednesday.

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic may be recalled for his first start in six games, but captain Fabricio Coloccini remains out with a calf injury.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has no new injury concerns ahead of the visit to St James' Park.

Dele Alli and Moussa Dembele are still suspended, while Nabil Bentaleb remains out with a knee problem.

MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES

Alistair Mann: "There couldn't be a greater contrast between these two clubs. For Spurs, there's burgeoning potential, stability and optimism, while for Newcastle there's an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty and palpable anxiety.

"While Mauricio Pochettino has extended his stay at White Hart Lane, the board at St James' Park are trying to convince Rafa Benitez that the challenge of reinvigorating Newcastle is an attractive proposition, with many would-be suitors circling overhead.

"The match itself does have significance for the visitors, who certainly don't want to give up their hard earned runners-up spot to Arsenal on the final day.

"While a draw would ensure that milestone, a victory would also give them their highest ever Premier League points haul."

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on finishing above Arsenal: "To move on, we need to sometimes put out the emotions, to be clever, we need to fight first to improve ourselves and be strong in our ideas.

"I can understand it, for our supporters it's special to be above Arsenal, but I want to be second not because we'll be above our enemy, our opponent, but because we are ambitious."

LAWRO'S PREDICTION

I can understand why Tottenham were not themselves in their defeat by Southampton last weekend, because it is hard to play with the same intensity when the title has gone.

But I don't think they will be lacking in motivation on Sunday. A point makes sure they finish second, and above their north London rivals Arsenal for the first time since 1995, which will mean a lot to the Spurs players as well as the fans.

Prediction: 1-2
